Hi,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of my mother, Betty Wiedlin. Betty passed away on Feb. 18 after struggling with Alzheimer's disease for several years. She died quietly in her sleep, at home, surrounded by her family.
My sister had called me a few weeks previously to tell me she thought Betty was not going to be here much longer, so I left the tour that the Go-Go's were on and flew to Oregon, where my parents have been living. They had moved up there about 5 months ago to be closer to my big sis, Meg, who wanted to help my dad care for Mom.
Anyway, it was hard to be there and nurse my mom. Both physically and mentally. Alzheimer's is a terrible terrible disease, and to see someone as intelligent as Betty become so lost and confused was totally heartbreaking. The first ten days Mom was still awake and she at least still recognized me, and I was so glad to be there for her, even though she was in horrible pain.
The last week, she just slept, refusing to eat, or even drink water. We knew she wanted to go.
I am glad for her to be in a better place, but it is so hard to know my wonderful mom is gone.
I want to thank my bandmates, The Go-Go's, for their love and support during this difficult time.
They were so great, both towards me, and towards the fans, carrying on with a substitute under most trying circumstances. I could not have been there for my family if it hadn't been for my "second" family, my band.
I also want to say that I need time to grieve my mom, process and heal. Thus, I have decided to shut down my website and my MySpace page for the immediate future. I haven't been very good about updating the two sites anyways, and now I know I REALLY won't be for awhile anyway.

The Go-Gos' Jane Wiedlin re-recorded "Our Lips Are Sealed" and Rick Springfield revamped "Jessie’s Girl" for a compilation of acoustic versions of hits from the era of 'Just Say No.'
Due May 30 via Sidewinder Music, "80s Hits Stripped" also boasts newly recorded versions of "Only the Lonely" by the Motels, "She Blinded Me with Science" by Thomas Dolby," "Promises Promises" by Naked Eyes and "867-5309/Jenny" by Tommy Tutone.
There's good reason for the disc, according to those who took part. Wiedlin calls the Go-Gos smash "fundamentally good at the core -– the lyrics and the melody are strong enough to be performed most any way and it will still sound pretty cool. I am so pleased and so proud that something that sprang straight from my heart resonated.” (FYI - We love Jane. Remember her as Joan of Arc in 'Bill & Ted'?)
The set is rounded out by versions that were either found on rare b-sides or imports. We're talking the Outfield, Billy Idol, Berlin and more. Details are at sidewinder-music.com.

LAS VEGAS, March 16 JANE WIEDLIN TO COMPETE IN CELEBRITY POKER
Hansen Gray & Company, subsidiary NAPP Tour, Inc., creator of the International Poker Association and the North American Poker Tour, has partnered with Tenner and Associates to sponsor the VH1 Classic Rock-n-Roll Celebrity Poker Tournament, the first televised poker contest to feature music artists.
The Tournament, presented by CelebrityPokerPlayer.net and hosted by Phil Laak, will bring together six well-known musical performers, including Dusty Hill of ZZ Top, Jane Wiedlin of the Go Go's, Vinnie Paul of Pantera, and Sully Erna of Godsmack all for the benefit of charity. The winner will determine to which charity the prize pool proceeds will be donated. DOWNTOWN SENSATION TO PERFORM LIVE FOR XM SATELLITE RADIO
The Downtown Sensation will be performing live in Las Vegas on Saturday January 7, 2006, at the Las Vegas Convention Center for XM Satellite Radio.
The CES Convention is the biggest consumer electronics show in America.

Nordstrom To Offer Online Entertainment And Shopping
Nordstrom Inc. on Wednesday said it planned to offer customers next week interactive desktop software that the company will use to deliver broadband video that combines fashion, music and pop culture with shopping.
On Nov 7, customers will be invited by email to download the new marketing platform, called Nordstrom Silverscreen. Powered by technology from Maven Networks, the channel will premiere a music video featuring the pop song "Our Lips Are Sealed" by '80s group The Go-Go's. FatBoy Slim remixed the music.
The video will show women in Nordstrom merchandise blended in with the original Go-Go's video. Viewers will be able to shop for merchandise from the video by clicking through to Nordstrom.com. The software will also include a "mixing room," where customers can create their own remix of the song by mixing and matching clothes on a mannequin.
"Nordstrom Silverscreen is a new way to connect with our customers in a highly competitive and saturated retail advertising landscape," Linda Finn, executive vice president of marketing for the Seattle-based company, said in a statement. "We think this will give customers a unique fashion experience and introduce more customers to the selection of merchandise we have online."

Wellspring digs deep to find 'Freaky' film
Indie distrib will 'Live' for pic rights

TORONTO -- Indie distribdistrib Wellspring has acquired all North American rights to the stop-motion animation musical-comedy "Live Freaky! Die Freaky!" by John Roecker.
Pic, which features voice work by a number of alt rockers including Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, is an outrageous retelling of the Manson family murders, set circa 3069.
Pic was produced through Hellcat Pictures, headed by Tim Armstrong, front man for pop punk band Rancid.
Also lending their voices to the pic are actor-helmer Asia ArgentoAsia Argento, Lunachick's Theo Kogan, AFI's Davey Havoc, X's John Doe, the Go Go's Jane Wiedlin and members of Good Charlotte and Blink-182.
Songs in the pic were penned by Faith No More and Imperial Teen keyboardist Roddy Bottum.
Wellspring will roll out the film in 2006, focusing on midnight screening slots before a DVD launch.
PactPact was brokered by Wellspring's Marie Therese Guirgis and Peter Paterno and Jeff Silberman of King, Holmes, Paterno & Berliner, who repped the producers.

There's good reason for the disc, according to those who took part. Wiedlin calls the Go-Gos smash "fundamentally good at the core -– the lyrics and the melody are strong enough to be performed most any way and it will still sound pretty cool. LAS VEGAS, March 16 JANE WIEDLIN TO COMPETE IN CELEBRITY POKER
Hansen Gray & Company, subsidiary NAPP Tour, Inc., creator of the International Poker Association and the North American Poker Tour, has partnered with Tenner and Associates to sponsor the VH1 Classic Rock-n-Roll Celebrity Poker Tournament, the first televised poker contest to feature music artists.
The Tournament, presented by CelebrityPokerPlayer.net and hosted by Phil Laak, will bring together six well-known musical performers, including Dusty Hill of ZZ Top, Jane Wiedlin of the Go Go's, Vinnie Paul of Pantera, and Sully Erna of Godsmack all for the benefit of charity. The winner will determine to which charity the prize pool proceeds will be donated. In addition, the winner will take over VH1 Classic for an entire day, programming all of that day's music videos and serving as on-air host. The winner will also receive an entry into the $10,000 North American Poker Tour Invitational at Hollywood Park in September 2006.
The VH1 Classic Rock-n-Roll Celebrity Poker Tournament, also sponsored by CelebrityPokerPlayer.net, will be filmed at Harrah's Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and will premiere in June, 2006 on VH1 Classic.

The Downtown Sensation will be performing live in Las Vegas on Saturday January 7, 2006, at the Las Vegas Convention Center for XM Satellite Radio.
The CES Convention is the biggest consumer electronics show in America.

Nordstrom To Offer Online Entertainment And Shopping
Nordstrom Inc. on Wednesday said it planned to offer customers next week interactive desktop software that the company will use to deliver broadband video that combines fashion, music and pop culture with shopping.
On Nov 7, customers will be invited by email to download the new marketing platform, called Nordstrom Silverscreen. Powered by technology from Maven Networks, the channel will premiere a music video featuring the pop song "Our Lips Are Sealed" by '80s group The Go-Go's. FatBoy Slim remixed the music.
The video will show women in Nordstrom merchandise blended in with the original Go-Go's video. Viewers will be able to shop for merchandise from the video by clicking through to Nordstrom.com. The software will also include a "mixing room," where customers can create their own remix of the song by mixing and matching clothes on a mannequin.
"Nordstrom Silverscreen is a new way to connect with our customers in a highly competitive and saturated retail advertising landscape," Linda Finn, executive vice president of marketing for the Seattle-based company, said in a statement. "We think this will give customers a unique fashion experience and introduce more customers to the selection of merchandise we have online."

Wellspring digs deep to find 'Freaky' film
Indie distrib will 'Live' for pic rights

TORONTO -- Indie distribdistrib Wellspring has acquired all North American rights to the stop-motion animation musical-comedy "Live Freaky! Die Freaky!" by John Roecker.
Pic, which features voice work by a number of alt rockers including Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, is an outrageous retelling of the Manson family murders, set circa 3069.
Pic was produced through Hellcat Pictures, headed by Tim Armstrong, front man for pop punk band Rancid.
Also lending their voices to the pic are actor-helmer Asia ArgentoAsia Argento, Lunachick's Theo Kogan, AFI's Davey Havoc, X's John Doe, the Go Go's Jane Wiedlin and members of Good Charlotte and Blink-182.
Songs in the pic were penned by Faith No More and Imperial Teen keyboardist Roddy Bottum.
Wellspring will roll out the film in 2006, focusing on midnight screening slots before a DVD launch.
PactPact was brokered by Wellspring's Marie Therese Guirgis and Peter Paterno and Jeff Silberman of King, Holmes, Paterno & Berliner, who repped the producers.
